A local resident yesterday found the missing Baby Jesus figurine lying against a tree next to the Preston Nativity scene.
On Tuesday 21 December, Trevor Edwards discovered the missing figurine after Preston City Council appealed for information leading to its safe return.
The council appealed after discovering that somebody had stolen the figurine and vandalised the Nativity Scene on Flag Market.

In the tweet, Trevor said: “I have him. I went past this evening to have a look, and there he was leaning against the tree.
“I’ll bring him into the Town Hall tomorrow, sometime after 11am.”
The council maintenance team have since repaired the crib, and a temporary replacement figurine is in place until Jesus is returned.
