A second, weaker storm will hit Preston and much of the UK this week, according to a new warning from the Met Office.
A yellow weather warning for wind will be in place for Preston from 4pm tomorrow (January 23) until 1pm on Wednesday (January 24) as a result of the predicted impact of Storm Jocelyn.
Storm Isha brought amber weather warnings for Preston on Sunday evening and this warning is not as severe. There are weather warnings for rain in place elsewhere in Lancashire, but these do not cover Preston currently. This does not mean it won’t rain, but that the impact of any rain is expected to be small.

There is a chance of further damage to buildings, which may already be in need of repair after Storm Isha. Travel by road or public transport could see delays.
Steve Willington, chief meteorologist at the Met Office, said: “Although this system will be a step down relative to Storm Isha, with the damage and clean up still underway, we could potentially see more impacts from Storm Jocelyn.
“Outbreaks of heavy rain on Tuesday could bring rainfall accumulations of 15 to 20 mm quite widely with 40 to 50 mm over higher ground in southwest Scotland, the Scottish Highlands and parts of northwest England. Wind gusts are expected to reach 55 to 65 mph across northwestern Scotland while there is potential for winds to gust to 75 to 80 mph in a few places, in particular exposed parts of the Western Isles and coastal northwest Scotland early on Wednesday morning.”
