Preston weather forecast: Day-by-day temperatures as cold weather alert issued

You may have noticed the temperature drop over the last few days and it looks like it isn’t getting warmer any time soon.

Make sure to wrap up warm as winter is certainly here and you can expect some sleet showers to come to Preston.

Colder air is coming from the north across many parts of the UK over the next few days which brings the potential for wintry showers.

The UKHSA has issued a yellow cold-health alert for the health sector covering northern regions of England which runs through the whole week.  

Tuesday 28 November – High of 6°C, low of -5°C

Tuesday will be misty with light winds and there will be a high of 6°C and a low of -5°C.

Morning – Starts off chilly with sun and slight clouds.

Afternoon – Mid-day will be sunny but make sure to still wrap up warm.

Evening – The sun will set from about 4pm, with temperatures dropping to -1°C by 9pm.

Wednesday 29 November – High of 3°C, low of -4°C

Wednesday will be sunny throughout but still cold.

Morning – The morning will start off cold at -4°C.

Afternoon – The afternoon will reach a high of 2°C, with temperatures dropping from there.

Evening – Layer up as temperatures will go down to -2°C over the evening.

Thursday 30 November – High of 3°C, low of -4°C

Thursday will be similar to Wednesday, but not as much sunshine.

Morning – By 10am, temperatures will reach 0°C, before starting to go up slightly by mid-day.

Afternoon – Between 12pm-3pm, you will still need to wear your hat, scarf and gloves as it will be 3°C.

Evening – From 7pm onwards, it will be a cool -1°C and won’t rise again until Friday morning.

Friday 1 December – High of 3°C, low of -4°C

Friday will mark the start of December, but the weather wills till be chilly.

Morning – Friday will start off at -2°C before rising to 1°C by 11am.

Afternoon – The afternoon will be lovely and sunny but between 12pm-3pm it will only be 2°C.

Evening – 5pm will go down to 0°C and will go down to -2°C afterwards.

Saturday 2 December – High of 3°C, low of -2°C

The first weekend of December will be a chilly one and there will be some drizzle.

Morning – Saturday morning may see some sleep and will be cold at -1°C.

Afternoon – By 2pm it will be 2°C and there will be some drizzle and light winds.

Evening – The evening will be partly cloudy and there will still be some light winds. Later on at 9pm there may be some sleet showers and then temperatures will go down to 0°C.

Sunday 3 December – High of 3°C, low of -2°C

Sunday will most likely have some sleep showers and slight winds.

Morning – Sunday morning will be a cold one at -1°C with drizzle.

Afternoon – The afternoon will soon brighten up and will be sunny with a high of 2°C until 4pm.

Evening – The evening will be clear but cold and will reach a low of -1°C.

Monday 4 December – High of 3°C, low of -2°C

Next Monday will consist of a day of mist and light winds.

Morning – Monday morning will start of misty and will be chilly at -1°C.

Afternoon – Some sunshine will peek through in the afternoon, but temperatures will still be cold, with a high of 2°C.

Evening – Temperatures will go down to 0°C at 5pm and will remain the same until Tuesday.
