The Environment Agency are delivering a Flood Risk Management Scheme to protect homes and businesses from flooding in Preston and South Ribble.
This has resulted in a series of road closures and diversions being put in place to progress works in the area.
Closures had been set to come into force on 21 March along Riverside, but were delayed until today (Tuesday 25 April) due to unforeseen circumstances.
One of the local businesses affected by the closures is the New Continental in South Meadow Lane.
