Road closures for the Preston and South Ribble Flood Risk Management Scheme have been delayed.
The closures were due to come into force yesterday (Monday 20 March) along Riverside, and last 14 months until May 2024.
The Environment Agency North West posted about the delay on Twitter during the afternoon.
The tweet said: “We expect to implement the road closures shortly, therefore diversions will remain in place.”
Plans are in place to minimise disruption from the flood scheme, with any road closures, diversions, and changes to parking being communicated to residents in advance.
