Covid-19 boosters are available for over-18s in Preston and South Ribble after news that the government is ramping up accessibility to every UK adult by the end of 2021.

Residents over 18 are now eligible to receive a Covid-19 vaccine at any clinic venue, while 16 and 17-year-olds are eligible at certain venues.

Those living or working in Preston and the surrounding areas and anybody with caring responsibility for residents can access a vaccination via walk-in and mobile sites.

However, walk-ins are subject to availability at each site on the day, so residents should book appointments via the national booking service as much as possible, as it helps the NHS deal with demand and capacity.

The following walk-in clinics are available:

  • St John’s Shopping Centre, Preston, PR1 1FB. Monday – Sunday (8am to 8pm): 1st and 2nd dose Pfizer and Moderna.
  • Issa Medical Centre, 73 St Gregory Road, Preston PR1 6YA. (9am to 4:30pm): 1st and 2nd dose Pfizer for those aged 16 and over. Walk-in booster doses will also be available for those eligible.
  • Jubilee House, Lancashire Enterprise Business Park, Leyland, PR26 6TY, Wednesdays – Saturdays, 8am to 1pm and 2pm to 8pm.

Lancashire Vaccination Centre, Eastway Hub Retail Park, Fulwood, Preston, PR2 3FB, is currently not offering walk-ins due to a high volume of booked appointments.

The sites make getting a jab easier and more convenient, with clinicians on hand to answer questions and address any concerns residents might have.

No appointment is needed, and residents can walk in during operating hours. Depending on demand, there may be a wait upon arrival.
