Leyland Festival is returning in 2022 with a new Great British theme following a two-year hiatus.
AdvertisementScheduled for Thursday 2 June, the Great British Festival aims to capture national and local excitement during Queen Elizabeth II’s jubilee, marking 70 years on the throne.
The festival allows Leyland attendees to showcase their take on the new theme. The organisers hope local people and businesses will get excited and show off their creativity during the parade.

Organisers have asked attendees to revel in all things Great British, with everything from the UK’s musical heritage to cream tea and the NHS up for celebration.
Martin Carlin, chairman of Leyland Festival, said: “We’re very excited about next year’s Great British Festival theme. After a two-year absence, to return on a Thursday of such heightened excitement is the icing on the Victoria sponge cake”.
“The festival is a longstanding source of local pride. In 2022, we also hope to be a shining light to the whole country.
“We know how to throw a great party, we know how to embrace a theme, we know how to turn our resources into something extraordinary that unites our community and lifts spirits across the region. We’ll be back with a bang, showing the UK how it’s done.
“We have also been waiting a long time to champion our local businesses. We’ll be working incredibly hard to ensure that our hospitality and retail businesses have the opportunity and support to bounce back further after what’s been an unimaginably challenging period. Just as importantly, however, it’ll be a fantastic party and a festival we’ll remember for decades to come.”
