Two of the five fastest rising infection rates in England can currently be found in areas bordering Preston.

The statistics come from the latest week-on-week testing data from Public Health England comparing the seven days of testing to May 24 and then to May 31.
Ribble Valley also makes the top five in Covid-19 hotspots in England, with Preston being one of the worst ten areas.
The news comes as Dr Sakthi Karunanithi, Lancashire’s Director of Public Health, told the BBC that Lancashire residents should be having double doses of the Covid vaccine faster due to the rapid rise in cases in the county.
Out of the 32 localities covered in Blog Preston‘s weekly Covid-19 cases update, 21 saw increases in the latest data.
