Two lanes shut on M6 northbound after crash near Junction 31

Two lanes of the M6 have been shut northbound due to a crash.

A number of vehicles are understood to have been involved in the crash between Junction 31 (Tickled Trout) and Junction 31A (Fulwood/Red Scar).

The crash took place just after 3.30pm on Sunday (27 December).

Lancashire Police and Highways England have officers heading for the scene.

Difficult driving conditions are expected as the Met Office has in place a storm and ice warning for Preston and Lancashire.

Frequent hail storms are lashing the city as temperatures remain barely above freezing.
