Gareth Roberts was found with serious injuries to his head, face and neck at a house in Levensgarth Avenue, Fulwood in January this year.

The 36-year-old later died in hospital from his injuries.

A 37-year-old man, from Huddersfield, and a 36-year-old woman from Preston, were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police extended the bail period until early April but have now decided the pair have no charges to face and they were released facing no further action.

Mr Roberts funeral was held in early February following a fundraising campaign by friends and colleagues at The Sherwood pub where he worked.

Lancashire coroners confirmed they had opened an inquest into Mr Roberts death on 19 February this year. The hearing was adjourned. A future date for the hearing is yet to be set.
