Gym at Fulwood Leisure Centre – last refitted in 2014
A major refurbishment of a Preston leisure centre is being planned.
Fulwood Leisure Centre, which transferred to the ownership of the social enterprise Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL), in May last year is to see £700,000 spent.
Those who use the gym, swimming pool and studios at the Black Bull Lane centre are being warned of minor disruption when the work starts.
The 16-week project is going to see the current gym extended, new strength equipment put in as well as the Boditrax tech system brought in and there will be new lighting and flooring in the gym.
The gym and studio audio and visual kit is also being upgraded.
Studios, used by yoga and other fitness classes, are being ‘refreshed’.
The entrance, reception and membership area is also having work done as well as a new access control turnstile being fitted.
Health and fitness customers will see two new dedicated male and female changing rooms fitted.
