Man arrested after police chase in Fletcher Road

A 26-year-old man has been arrested after a short police chase in Deepdale on Tuesday evening.

The driver of the Kia Creed was using his mobile phone whilst driving on Fletcher Road just after 8pm.

He failed to stop when asked to but after a short pursuit was detained.

When searching the car police found a baseball bat by the driver’s side door.

He was arrested on suspicion of using a mobile phone whilst driving, failing to stop, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

The man is currently in custody.
