Delays on the M55 during rush hour were due to police undertaking a stop-and-search.

Readers contacted Blog Preston at around 5.30pm yesterday (27 March) reporting that an incident had taken place on the M55 westbound between junction 1 and 2.

Traffic was stopped at that point and there were delays as a result.

Blog Preston understands that police had implemented a temporary block on traffic while they conducted a stop-and-search on a vehicle at 5.20pm.

No arrests were made as a result.
