A man has been charged with the murder of his six-week-old-baby son.
Preston Police have charged 31-year-old Peter Sayle of Squires Wood, Fulwood, with the murder of the boy which dates back to 2022.
Police were called to Squires Wood off Longsands Lane around 1.30am on 14 June 2022 after the baby, now named as Huxley Sayle, was found with a head injury and taken to hospital.
Huxley never recovered and died on 14 July 2022 – his cause of death ruled as a traumatic head injury.
Mr Sayle had been arrested in June 2022 on suspicion of section 18 wounding and later re-arrested on suspicion of murder.
During Thursday 27 March following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service he has been charged with the murder of the baby and will appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court during Friday (28 March) morning.
