Leyland man jailed for theft of meat, poultry and protein bars

A Leyland man has been jailed for a string of shoplifting offences.

Andrew Ritchie targeted stores across Leyland taking meat, poultry and protein bars.

The 29-year-old of Leyland Lane appeared at Preston Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to charges of two counts of theft from a shop and two attempted thefts.

South Ribble Police arrested Ritchie on Monday 10 February after enquiries following the thefts from The Range, Aldi and Tesco in Leyland.

Ritchie was jailed for three-and-a-half months.
