In pictures: After the flooding, the ice came to Preston

It has been an unsettled start to 2025 – from a weather perspective at least.

New Year’s Day brought the rain, and floods, that caused disruption across Preston. The Guild Wheel is expected to be closed for a period of time for repairs.

Then 2 January saw an icy start for Preston with the Met Office issuing back-to-back overnight ice warnings.

At the time of writing, there is a snow and ice warning in place for much of the UK for Saturday and Sunday that could cause further disruption.

But while the weather can be disruptive, it can also provide an opportunity for photography. People have shared some of their work with Blog Preston below.
