M6 driver stopped going wrong-way on motorway at Junction 32

A man caught driving the wrong way on the M6 during Wednesday evening caused long delays.

Lancashire Police said they arrested a driver at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.

The 37-year-old man from Morecambe has since been released under investigation.

Motorists reported a vehicle travelling to wrong way on the M6 near to Junction 32 (Broughton) around 6pm on Wednesday (13 November) – it was heading northbound on the southbound carriageway.

Police confirmed the car involved – a BMW – was seized.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on 101 quoting log 1080 of 13 November.
