Preston is set to bask in sunshine during the first full day of BBC Radio 2 In The Park.
Taking over Moor Park during Saturday (7 September) and Sunday (8 September) around 30,000 people are expected each day of the festival.
The city is well-known for its soggy climate but the weather gods appear to be blowing in the BBC and organisers favour as it stands.
Friday’s Pre-Party, which is inside the Radio 2 DJ tent and has 5,000 people expected, is set to see temperatures of 22 degrees and sunshine – it is breezy though with gusts of 25-30mph. But revellers will be inside the giant tent.
Here’s an hour-by-hour forecast for Saturday based on the Met Office forecast.
12midnight-6am – If you’re up early to get on the road, then it is overcast with temperatures of 15 degrees.
7am – 8am – The sun appears and there’s relatively little wind, 15mph
8am – 9am – Sunny spells continue
9am – 10am – Any chance of rain drops away and the feels-like temperature is 19 degrees
10am – 11am – Heading towards gates opening time and we’re set for temperatures of 20 degrees. Visibility is also rated as good – good news for being able to see the stage from the back.
