Those attending BBC Radio 2 In The Park in Moor Park are being urged to wear ‘appropriate footwear’.
The ground in the park is understood to be ‘soft and muddy in places’ due to the wet weather earlier this week.
Weather forecasts for the Friday and Saturday show the city due to bask in warm and breezy sunshine – which should help dry out the park – and Sunday being more overcast.

But organisers have sent an email to those attending the festival to say: “The wet weather earlier this week has made the ground on the park soft and muddy in places.
“Please be prepared with appropriate waterproofs and footwear for the event.”
Blog Preston understands the park is drying out well and only parts of it on the fringes of the site are of concern in terms of poor underfoot conditions.
And the city is being told to brace for major traffic delays as organisers say “results from our research suggest that many of those attending are planning to travel by car.”
A residents-only parking zone is in place across side-streets surrounding Moor Park with the threat of a fixed penalty notice, or potentially having a car towed if causing an obstruction, if found to be parked without a permit.
Home-owners living near the Moor Park site are urged to apply for a permit, if not already done so, which is free and will ensure they can park outside or near their home for the weekend. There are 7,500 households within the residents-only parking zone.
Anyone driving to the event is urged to pre-book parking, although most remaining car park options are a 25-30 minute walk from the festival site. For those getting a lift, pick-up and drop-off points are in operation from Sainsbury’s at Deepdale and the taxi drop-off and pick-up point is at Deepdale Stadium.
Those travelling to BBC Radio 2 In The Park are being urged to consider public transport, but there’s a warning train services on Saturday and Sunday evening will be ‘very limited on certain routes’ in terms of seating and capacity after 9pm, particularly for those looking to travel south of Preston.
There’s also not due to be any train services after 8pm on both Saturday and Sunday through to London – which will affect those attempting to travel south of the city via Avanti such as to Wigan and Warrington.
The finish time of the concerts is given as between 9.40pm and 9.45pm on both nights.
Road closures also mean after the event on the Saturday and Sunday then Preston Bus is unable to serve Sir Tom Finney Way/Deepdale Road as usual – meaning only the shuttle bus, which costs £10 – is available in terms of a bus route back to the city centre.
