A person has died on the line between Preston and Blackburn this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene close to Hoghton at 4.30pm today (15 August) after reports of a fatal incident.
Blog Preston understands passengers on board the train to Preston have been informed that a person has died.

Lines between Blackburn and Preston are closed while emergency services attend the scene. Disruption is expected until 6.30pm.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to the line near Hoghton at around 4.30pm today (15 August) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
A spokesperson for National Rail said: “The emergency services dealing with an incident between Blackburn and Preston. Whilst they do their work, all lines are closed.
“Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or revised.”
