St Catherine’s Hospice is hosting a ‘Yellow Day’ in Lostock Hall.

The popular family garden fete, in aid of the charity, is taking place on Sunday (23 June) in the gardens of St Catherine’s Park.

The grounds will be decorated with yellow ribbons, in memory of those who have lost their lives. Tributes are welcome in honour of anyone.

Running from 11am to 4pm on Sunday, the day will bring entertainment, activities, food, stalls and attractions.

Emma Jacovelli, head of Community Engagement said: “Yellow Day is a fantastic, fun-filled day out for all the family, and also provides a poignant opportunity to remember people who mean so much to us.

“When supporters make a Yellow Ribbon dedication, their loved ones’ names are written on ribbons which are displayed in the hospice gardens throughout June and July, and included in the Yellow Ribbon Remembrance Book which will be available to view for the first time at Yellow Day.

“People are welcome to visit our grounds any time during the summer months to take time to remember and reflect, and the book will be available to view at the hospice and online throughout July and August.

“We’re really looking forward to experiencing the wonderful atmosphere of Yellow Day, and we’d like to thank our sponsors Cassidy + Ashton and Suresite for helping to cover the event running costs so that all funds raised can go directly towards supporting our charity.”

A free park-and-ride bus service will operate throughout the event from Leyland Trucks car park off Croston Road.

Yellow Ribbon dedication are required before Tuesday 18 June to ensure names are included in the book. Dedications made after will still be written on ribbons and the book will be updated in early August.

To remember someone, you can visit their website or call 01772 629171. People are also welcome to visit the hospice to write their own ribbons.
