A new coffee shop will open soon in Preston city centre.

Black Sheep Coffee was confirmed to come to Preston for the first time as far back as September 2023 when it listed Fishergate as a new location.

Work has now started to open the coffee shop in Preston – with the former Fat Face unit on Fishergate currently undergoing renovation.

The chain, which has 77 locations in England and 11 more in development – including one in East Lancashire – describes itself as being ‘ready to take down big corporate brands and rid the world of boring, average tasting coffee’.

Black Sheep Coffee was founded by former St Andrews University students Eirik Holth and Gabriel Shohet, who opened the first outlet in Camden in 2013.

According to their own Black Sheep Coffee website, coffee is sourced straight from plantation and cups are fully recyclable. The firm also supports the homeless community with its free coffee board scheme.

It will come as a boost to Preston to see the empty unit filled, with the number of vacancies in the city centre repeatedly under scrutiny in recent months.
