Drivers heading into Preston city centre this morning from Penwortham have been experiencing long delays.

A three-car crash on the Guild Way around 7.30am on Monday (13 May) caused long tailbacks onto the A59 and the Penwortham flyover.

Roadworks in Strand Road compounded the delays.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing one car with extensive damage to its front on the pavement on Guild Way with two other vehicles parked up.

Preston Police said they had not been called to the incident.

Congestion has now eased but Google Maps traffic continues to show heavy traffic in Strand Road.
