Motorists enduring roadworks in one of Preston’s busiest link roads are set to see work continue until June.
Traffic lights in Strand Road are being replaced by Lancashire County Council.
The current set of roadworks, in West Strand Road, are ongoing until Sunday (19 May) and then a second set of roadworks begins for the traffic lights.

The second set of roadworks takes place from Tuesday (21 May) – the same day the Corporation Street bus gate comes into force. The county council says the second set of Strand Road roadworks are running until Monday 3 June.
County councillor Rupert Swarbrick, cabinet member for highways and transport, said: “A second stage of work on upgrading another set of traffic lights will take place further up the road at the Lidl Junction. These are due to begin on Tuesday 21 May and we will aim to complete them by Monday 3 June.
“We’re aware that this coincides with the new bus gate in Corporation Street being introduced on Tuesday 21 May 2024.
“No fines will be issued initially and anyone who drives through the bus gate when they shouldn’t during this grace period will receive a warning letter.
“Drivers may experience more congestion than usual in this area due to these factors and I would like to thank people in advance for their patience while we make these improvements to our road network.”
