Soggy ground conditions in Avenham and Miller Park mean there will be no funfair at the annual egg rolling.
Preston’s tradition dates back more than 150 years and sees Easter Eggs rolled down the steep slopes of Avenham Park at hourly intervals.
But due to the recent wet weather the funfair planned for the park is not going to be set up.

A spokesperson for Preston City Council said: “Unfortunately, the funfair won’t be joining us at Avenham and Miller Parks this year due to ground conditions.
“But don’t worry, you can head over to Moor Park after Egg Rolling for some fairground fun during Easter half term.”
Prestonians are being urged to bring their wellies with them for the annual egg roll.
Egg rolling takes place from 11am to 4pm on Monday (1 April) and also features children’s activities, food and drink stalls and more along with the hourly egg roll. It’s free to attend.
