A group of Lancashire farmers and supporters are set to hold a rally in Preston.
Lancashire Farmers Movement is organising the protest, which is being held at the Tickled Trout Hotel in Preston New Road on Sunday (10 March) from 9am. It follows similar events held in other parts of the UK and Europe.
A Lancashire Farmers Movement spokesperson said: “Farming is the only industry we cannot live without, but family farms are being forced to close and sell up by the government and the supermarkets.
“Farmers are under constant financial pressure due to rising costs to produce food but yet the prices farmers are paid for their produce do not match these rising costs that are dictated by the powers that be.
“This topped with the constant rules and regulations that British farmers are expected to comply with and various different red tape measures that are brought out every year are basically making it impossible for British farming to be sustainable in the long run.”

The spokesperson continued: “This will also be the perfect chance for the general public wishing to show support to engage with farmers and hear about some of the struggles they are currently having in the agricultural industry.
