Storm Isha sees fallen tree block Riversway

Storm Isha is seeing winds of up to 60mph and a major route out of the city is shut due to a fallen tree.

Preston Police are on the scene at the A583 Riversway at the junction with Pedders Way in Ashton-on-Ribble.

The road is shut due to a fallen tree and police are diverting drivers via Pedders Lane and Blackpool Road. The tree fell shortly after 10pm on Sunday (21 January).

The route into the city is not affected and the A583 Preston-bound remains open.

An amber weather warning for strong winds is in force until 12noon on Monday (22 January).
