Road closures around Syke Street while police dealt with incident

A number of roads were closed in Preston while police deal with an incident.

The closures are around Syke Street car park in Avenham. Police first reported the closures shortly before midday today (January 29). The roads were confirmed to be reopen by 1.29pm.

Police said they were dealing with a concern for welfare and people should avoid the area and find a different route for their journey.

A spokesperson for police said: “There are road closures in place around the Syke Street car park in Avenham, Preston, while we deal with a concern for welfare.

“Please avoid the area and find a different route for your journey.”
