A new series of talks is set to showcase a mixture of interesting Preston experts and businesses.
LOST Bar and Pizzeria in Market Street West is hosting its LOST Lectures for seven weeks starting from Wednesday (24 January).
The first event will see Graham Heap offer an insight into the world of probate genealogy.
Graham is a forensic genealogist who works with solicitors trying to find the heir to family fortunes. He’ll explain how he finds the rightful beneficiary when someone dies but leaves no will. His work covers the globe and often has unexpected results.

Further lectures are planned as follows. They all start at 7.30pm.
Wednesday 31 January: William Routledge. Bill is the author of two successful books covering terrace culture and working-class fashions throughout the modern era.
Wednesday 7 February: Steven Egan. Steve talks about how, from humble beginnings, he built a million-pound business in Preston.
Wednesday 21 February: Navin Solanki. Navin is a stained glass artist who has helped restore buildings like Manchester Cathedral and Manchester Town Hall. His next project is the Houses of Parliament.
Wednesday 28 February: John Bridge. John is an architect who is involved in the redevelopment of Preston. He talks about the plans for the transformation of the city.
Wednesday 6 March: Richard and Rachel Trenchard. Richard and Rachel are the owners of Goosnargh Gin. They will be giving an insight into how gin is made and distilled.
Wednesday 13 March: Andrew Hobbs. A lecturer in journalism at UCLan, Andrew will talk about how Preston was once considered the Fleet Street of the North, thanks to the six newspapers that were published here.

Talking to Blog Preston about the lectures, LOST’s Oil White said: “We wanted to do something that was fun and interesting. Our speakers have all achieved something and have a tale to tell.
“Most people tend to hibernate in January and February. These lectures are a reason to get out of the house, meet your friends, and listen to something interesting.”
