A dedicated Preston city centre policing team is being brought in to help try to quell reports of anti-social behaviour.
Preston Police said there were an increased number of officers who were now taking responsibility for policing the city centre.
It followed reports from businesses and members of the public about issues in the city.

One police sergeant, two police constables and three police community support officers will be assigned to the city centre area.
Inspector Dave Byrne, from Preston’s Local Policing team, said: “We are committed to working closely with our partners and the local community to make sure that Preston City Centre is a safe and enjoyable place to visit, work and live.”
