Preston’s three-rosette restaurant 263 has closed and is to be replaced by a new culinary destination, Aven.
It was announced today that 263 had shut yesterday (Sunday 24 September). Business partners Oli Martin and Alex Blamire will oversee Aven.
Oli, Director of Aven, said: “Alex and I are really excited to be launching Aven. We will continue to offer the same great food, service, and drinks as always, all wrapped up in some Northern hospitality.
“Aven, named after our neighbour, Avenham Park, will be focused on serving tasting menus highlighting the best of what the North has to offer, working closely with all the fantastic suppliers we have spent years building relationships with.
“A fresh start for myself and Alex will really allow us to take the business forward in a positive direction. We are looking forward to welcoming you all.”

The team says Aven will maintain the same high standards, thanks to the continued leadership of Executive Chef Sean Wrest and Restaurant Manager Sam Haigh.
Alex added: “Aven is committed to honouring all customers with 263 vouchers, and any existing reservations with 263 will be seamlessly transferred over to Aven and a team member will be in touch with you to provide all the necessary details to ensure a smooth transition.
“As we bid farewell to 263 Preston, we look forward to welcoming you to Aven, where we will continue to create unforgettable dining experiences.”
Aven’s website will be live from next weekend. Any bookings in the meantime can be made via dishcult.com or by calling 0800 246 5555 or emailing alex@collabbistros.co.uk.
