Preston is set for its first rain for more than a fortnight as the warm weather breaks over the weekend.
The city is set for thundery showers during Sunday (11 June) and Monday (12 June) following an absolute roasting on Saturday (11 June).
Temperatures on Saturday are set to reach up to 28 degrees on the hottest day of the year so far.

The Met Office has a thunderstorm warning in place for Saturday but at this stage it is not expected to reach as far North as Preston with the warning area stopping at Manchester.
Here’s your day-by-day forecast for the weekend:
Friday 9 June
AM – A moderate breeze and wall-to-wall sunshine, up to 17 degrees by 11am.
PM – Temperatures climb to 22 degrees with sunshine and stay warm and sunny through until 9pm.
Eve – Dropping to 14 degrees in the evening
Saturday 10 June
AM – The moderate breeze remains and the day dawns sunny and it’s already 21 degrees by 11am
PM – The temperatures continue to rise reaching a peak of 28 degrees around 3pm to 4pm
Eve – 22 degrees through until around 9/10pm before a clear night
Sunday 11 June
AM – Thundery showers to start the day with temperatures around 19 degrees, the sun and cloud cover stay between 9am to 11am with no rain forecast in that window
PM – Temperatures rise to 24 degrees and thundery showers expected throughout the afternoon
Eve – Sunshine at 7pm and nice evening sun through to 10pm before more rain arrives overnight
