Proposals for 380 new homes and apartments in Preston city centre are preparing to be lodged.

Onward Housing, which currently manages the tower blocks in Queen Street and Avenham, is consulting on proposals for the Horrocks Mill site.

The empty patch of land between Queen Street and Church Street, bordering Grimshaw Street, would see a mix of new houses and apartments.

The new housing on Horrocks Mill would include mews style houses to the north and west of the site, and low-rise apartments to the east and south.

A new green open space would be put in, as well as a trim trail for exercise and new walking routes connecting Queen Street to Church Street are also planned.

The land is a brownfield site and is allocated for residential development by Preston City Council as part of the Stoneygate Masterplan.

The consultation is running until Monday 26 June and comments can be made on the Onward Preston website, by emailing preston@onward.co.uk or calling 03005550600.

There’s also a consultation event at Onward’s Offices in Arundel Place on Saturday 17 June between 10am to 3pm to see more detailed plans and speak to the development team.
