A Preston soul food restaurant with ‘flavours from around the world’ has been rated 10 out of 10 by a popular Youtube sensation.

Danny Malin’s roaring success through his channel ‘Rate My Takeaway’ has seen the avid foodie visit popular food spots across the UK in a bid to try the best cuisines and review them.

Last month Danny documented his journey to the vibrant Coco’s Soul Food situated in Friargate, which garnered more than 100k views online.

The social media influencer starts each video with his signature style in a customised van.

In this occasion Danny looks at the camera and explains the desire to try ‘food full of soul’ which gets you in an ‘absolute mood of love, dancing and all things great’.

As Danny enters the Bob Marley themed restaurant, he patiently waits in the queue to have a look at the Caribbean and Mexican menu.

He orders a portion of chimichanga, coco’s honey chilli sticky wings, tropical mango chilli chicken with rice, and a bottle of water coming to a total of £23.50.

On a chilly afternoon, Danny sets up his portable table and chair outside the restaurant on the bustling street of Friargate filled with students.

After waiting for some time, the reviewer delves straight into the chilli sticky wings delivered with ‘amazing’ notes of sweetness and spiciness which leaves Danny saying: “They have let a beautiful taste in my mouth that is soul food.”

Trying the chimichanga next, a crispy deep-fried burrito consisting of jerk chicken, cheese and jalapenos. Danny describes the combination of flavours like ‘biting into piece of heaven’.

The mango salad chicken presented on a bread of rice, is the main showstopper, with Danny regarding it ‘unreal’ and a ‘work of art’. He says: “I have never tasted something like this in my life.

“It’s hot, it’s spicy, then the mango adds such a pizazz of freshness it is unbelievable.”

All in all, the review video shows a positive experience with Prestonians eager to get a photo with the well-known foodie.
