People are being warned to expect delays during work due to start shortly at a busy junction in Preston.
Temporary traffic lights will be operating the junction of Tulketh Brow, Water Lane and Fylde Road from Sunday 29 January to Friday 10 February while work takes place on the existing signals.
Fylde Road will be closed at the junction for traffic heading eastwards towards the city centre on Sunday 29 January, and will be closed for traffic heading westwards away from the city centre on Sunday 5 February, with signed diversions in place.

The work being carried out is to replace existing cables and ducting underneath the road, along with poles and signal equipment which has become unreliable and needs to be renewed.
County Councillor Rupert Swarbrick, cabinet member for highways and transport, said: “I’m grateful to people for planning their journeys around the work which we need to carry out at this very busy junction, and for their patience, as some delays will be unavoidable.

“Some of the traffic signals and electrical cabling at this junction has reached the end of its operating life and needs to be replaced to make sure the junction continues to operate safely.
“By doing this now in a planned way we will avoid a longer period of disruption if the equipment was fail.”
Advance warning signs have been placed near the site this week to alert people to the upcoming work.
