This weekend’s Preston parkrun has been cancelled due to icy patches.

The popular free event was due to take place tomorrow (Saturday 21 January).

A spokesperson for Preston parkrun said: “We have done a course check this afternoon and although many of the paths are clear, there are significant patches of ice near the speed bumps and at the finish area.

“Given the weather forecast for tonight it’s highly unlikely that this will melt away before 9am tomorrow.

“So unfortunately we have made the decision to cancel.”
