Reach for the Christmas Stars as South Ribble Borough Council reveals the celebrities for the Christmas Lights Switch On in Leyland this month.
Former S Club 7 star, Jo O’Meara and Coronation Street favourite and I’m a Celeb star, Andy Whyment will be doing the honours to light up Leyland for Christmas.
The event will take place on Saturday 26 November, hosted in partnership with Leyland Town Team.
It will begin on Hough Lane from 11.30am with the main event taking place at 5.30pm following an exciting performance from Jo O’Meara.
There will be lots to enjoy during the day including fairground rides, market stalls, street food, live music and entertainment from 3pm and children will be able to meet Santa in his Grotto.

Councillor Paul Foster, Leader of South Ribble Borough Council, said: “This is an event that everyone looks forward to as the official start of Christmas in Leyland.
“It wouldn’t be Christmas without a celebrity light switch on and this year, we have not one, but two incredible stars of music and screen to do the honours.
“This is event is always a joy every year, provides a great boost to the town centre economy and gives a real feel-good factor to our local community.

“I want to thank all of our partners in Leyland for coming together to make this special event happen and I encourage everyone to come along to enjoy the entertainment and support the local businesses involved in our festive event.”
Stalls, crafts and refreshments will also be available throughout the day at Leyland United Reformed Church along with a special Christingle celebration which will take place at 4pm.

Free parking will be available on the day at South Ribble car parks: Churchill Way, Sumner Street, King Street and Ecroyd Street.
The local, Leyland Cross Christmas Light Switch on will take place the night before on Friday 25 November, from 6 to 7.30pm with free refreshments and mince pies available.
