IKEA is finally set to open in Preston.
The news comes four years after the disappointment of IKEA pulling out of the planned Cuerden site.
However the Plan and Order Point will be a scaled-down store, with no products to take away or food for sale.
Instead, customers will be able to access information and samples, plus free consultations with IKEA planners.
The focus will be on bespoke kitchen and wardrobe designs, but customers will be able to get help planning any room in their home.

Due to open over winter, the unit will be located in a retail park or shopping centre in the Preston area.
Sized at between 70 and 90 sqm – much smaller than a normal IKEA – the store will showcase around five kitchen and wardrobe solutions.
The expansion is part of the retailer’s ongoing drive to make it easier and more accessible to shop with IKEA.
Two more new Plan and Order Points have also been announced in Aintree and Stockport.
