A local hospice has invited residents to join the next eight-mile Morecambe Bay Walk this September.
Lostock Hall’s St Catherine’s will take to the sands of Morecambe Bay on Saturday, 3 September, to enjoy an eight-mile scenic walk with panoramic views, with return transport from the hospice.
Registration is £15 for adults and £10 for children, with additional charges for the transport.

Supporter Cheryl Gill, who joined the walk last year, said: “To walk across the sands from Arnside to Grange in the safe hands of the guide was amazing and an exceptional way to enjoy the stunning scenery.
“My friends and I chatted and laughed the whole way, especially when knee-deep in the water! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
“There was a great atmosphere all day, and we all felt a real sense of achievement when we got back on dry land. I have done a few events to help raise much-needed funds for St Catherine’s, but this has been my favourite so far.”

Cheryl ‘highly recommended’ the trip and said attendees do not have to be experienced walkers.
Emma Jacovelli, the head of community engagement at St Catherine’s, said: “We’re calling on supporters to help us raise funds whilst enjoying one of the country’s most popular walks.
“It’s a great day out for everyone and is a charity trek with a difference. It’s not too strenuous and involves tackling everything from soft sands to woodland and potentially wading through the water.
“Walking the iconic sands of Morecambe Bay is on many people’s bucket lists and must be led by an expert guide.”
