A Penwortham family fun day that attracted hundreds of families to a local pub has raised £634.80 for two charities.
The event at Sir Tom Finney Pub raised funds for Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust Charity’s Children’s Appeal and Derian House Children’s Hospice.
The event saw families enjoy a bouncy castle, fairground rides, a magician, live music, games, stalls selling cupcakes, toys, books and candles, an ice cream van and a raffle.

Lucy Clark, a fundraiser for the Children’s Appeal, said: “Thank you to everyone who came along to make what was the first-ever joint event between Derian and the Children’s Appeal such a success.”
The appeal is raising £1 million for a shopping list of items to improve patient and family experience across children’s services.
The locations include the Royal Preston Hospital, Chorley and South Ribble Hospital, and Leyland’s Broadoaks Child Development Centre, where it will build a new outdoor play park assessment area and other centres.
In 2022, it will cost Derian House £5.7 million to provide services to 450 babies, children, and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions across the North West of England.
Only 17 per cent arrives from statutory sources, meaning that the rest is dependent on donations.
