The former Adelphi roundabout area is set to be officially renamed University Square.

The decision was made by Preston City Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Community Safety.

The change follows last year’s opening of the University of Central Lancashire’s £60m Student Centre and public square.

The development spanned six years of planning, consultation, demolition and construction of the new building and surrounding area.
