Roads were closed once again as four fire engines from Preston, Penwortham, Bamber Bridge and Fulwood attended the incident in Church Street.

Lancs Live reported that the fire was at the former Odeon Cinema.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters used six breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, a positive pressure ventilation and a thermal imaging camera.

“The fire service remained at scene for three hours and 15 minutes.”
