Emergency demolition works took place at the site on Saturday (21 May), after which a spokesperson for Preston City Council said: “The structure to the rear of the former Tokyo Jo’s nightclub and the vacant Odeon cinema needs to be removed in part to allow further investigation and surveys to establish the full extent of demolition required.”
Three teenage boys have been arrested and released on bail, as an investigation by Lancashire Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service into the cause of the fire continues.
