Tree falls in Bamber Bridge trapping two people

Two fire engines and Police were called to a road traffic collision on Wigan Road, Bamber Bridge at 7:28am today (Thursday, 7 April).

Two vehicles that had been hit by a falling tree were involved, with two people trapped in one vehicle, who were later freed by the fire service.

Two casualties received treatment from firefighters before being placed in the care of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) paramedics.

Crews were in attendance at the scene for an hour.

A road closure remains in place while the tree is removed.
