A housing development in Preston has been shortlisted for an award in the national Housing Design Awards.
AdvertisementThe Courtyards in Ingol was developed by Levitt Bernstein and has 60 independent living homes at affordable rents and communal facilities for people over 55-years-old who have varying care needs.
The developers used each principle from the HAPPI report to create the homes, which have been built for Community Gateway Association.

There are 40 two-bed flats and 20 one-bed flats which are dual aspect and fully accessible for mobility scooters and wheelchairs.
The awards were created in 1947 to encourage quality during the rebuild of post-war Britain and a number of companies involved with building houses help to sponsor the awards.
The winners of this year’s awards will be announced at the ceremony in July.
