Storm Franklin sees chimney damage to Fulwood property

Preston City Council’s Building Control team are working with Lancashire Fire and Rescue on the site of an unsafe building on Garstang Road, near the Watling Street Road crossroads.

Three fire engines along with the Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) from Fulwood, Preston and Hyndburn attended a house with a damaged chimney on Garstang Road in Preston.

Fire crews were in attendance along with Lancashire Police.

Firefighters worked to make the chimney and loose bricks safe, to prevent it from falling through the use of the aerial ladder platform.

There is a temporary traffic management system in place while the team remove the danger and make the area safe.
