Preston Railway Station has been closed after Storm Eunice caused damage to the roof.

The station shut yesterday (Friday 18 February) and remains closed for a safety inspection.

A spokesperson for Avanti West Coast said the station is expected to reopen mid-morning today.

Rail replacement buses are available between Wigan North Western, Preston and Lancaster.

Disruption could be set to continue as yellow weather warnings are in place for ice and wind over the weekend, with a third storm, Storm Franklin, looking likely to descend soon after Eunice.
