Stanifield Lane accident this morning still causing traffic delays in Leyland

There are traffic delays across Leyland after an accident this morning at around 7am.
The accident happened on the A5083 Stanifield Lane in Lostock Hall.
The road was shut in both directions at around 7am between A582 Farington Road and B5254 Stanifield Lane.

Over four hours later, there are still delays and the road is closed from Farington Road, up to Lydiate Lane.
There is congestion up to Golden Hill Lane which is causing delays in Leyland and also along Flensburg Way from the Tank Roundabout.
This is a separate incident to the spillage this morning.
Police are urging motorists to avoid the area.
