Feixia said all the routines are simple to learn, easy to practice and do not require any special equipment or a lot of space. She said the techniques can be completed from the home or office, but participating in two or more sessions per week is recommended.

Yutaichi Ltd is working with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) on a research study titled ‘Exploring the benefits of Tai chi/Qigong for health’ and is keen to gather the public’s opinions at two stages.

After registering, participants will be sent an email with a health screening questionnaire, which must be completed beforehand to maximise safety and minimise any potential risk. Instructions on how to attend the online classes will be shared after completing the questionnaire.

Involvement in the research includes participation in at least two classes per week and the completion of two online questionnaires six weeks apart. It is voluntary, and answers are anonymous. The decision to participate in the research does not affect registration.

It is a collaborative study, so the information provided via Eventbrite and during the pre-participation health check will be shared between Yutaichi Ltd and UCLan.

If participants decide not to volunteer, all details will be deleted by UCLan after the first exercise class and only kept by Yutaichi Ltd for health and safety purposes.

An email address will be retained by UCLan until the end of the course, at which point it will be deleted. All data will be stored in line with GDPR. Yutaichi Ltd will delete all personal details at the end of the course.
