Preston Euros fan zone applauds as England football team take the knee

City fan zone applauding when England took the knee yesterday (Sunday, 13 June)

Yesterday (Sunday, 13 June) England fans at City fan zone in Preston cheered as players took the knee to show solidarity with Black Lives Matter.


Unfortunately, a minority of fans are still choosing to boo the players who take the knee during the Euro 2020 games, but it seems Prestonians are supporting the anti-racist movement.

In a video uploaded to Twitter by @WindrushCIC, Prestonians clap and cheer to England players taking the knee.

The tweet read: “Of course Preston and our inclusive attitude understand #TheKnee. We love to see it. #OurCityPreston.”

@juicyyusuf replied saying: “Proud to be a Prestonian.”

@CoryRocker said: “Wouldn’t expect anything less.”
